Question: How do we work with clients in order to build an ongoing relationship?

Answer: Many clients prefer to deal with the same “Outsider Insider” consultancy time and time again, but they also fear complacency and price-hiking. Going through a Client Review Process positions us as being seriously committed to future work without exploiting the relationship

Key action points

Our Client Review tool is excellent at digging out and neutralising the little quibbles that trail behind any project. It is also highly effective at introducing us to new potential clients within the same organisation.

In effect, it is an appraisal system. We map out 8-10 aspects of the process that we would like the client team to comment on, then we interview each member individually, encouraging him / her to be as critical as possible in order to force all lurking reservations out onto the table.

After we have interviewed all of the team and, if possible, some of the external stakeholders as well, we analyse the results in a workshop, and we go back to the client team to tell them about the improvements we will make in the future, thus reinforcing again our desire to be a safe pair of hands, as well as providing us with the chance to remind people of all of our good points.
