Branding through catalog companies

Luckily, you are just seconds away from some very smart brand marketing solutions. Click here!

Catalog companies

Catalogs are an increasingly successful distribution channel, especially in Europe, & catalog companies are often highly sophisticated marketing companies with strong customer profiling data.

Merchandising your brand within a catalog space relies on:

  • winning the bid for catalog space
  • providing impactful promotions/images
  • maximising space within the catalog for your brands
  • appearing in multiple sections of the catalog
  • gaining additional mentions within the catalog, including cover page features, indexes, inserts, & samples

In order to achieve this you will have to persuade the catalog company that your participation will:

  • maximise their profit return per unit of space
  • enhance the catalog's image
  • if possible, reduce their costs of operation
  • encourage customers to place additional orders & to use the catalog as a source of reference for your product/service category

Distributors

Many distributors in business-to-business markets have catalogs, but they are only an add-on to their more traditional ways of communicating with their customers.

The emphasis here, therefore, is to help them develop their catalog, the reward for which will be a strong representation of your brand.

Wholesalers, like Spicers in the office products market, host customised electronic catalogs on the Internet for their distributors.
