Although brand marketers from the packaged consumer goods companies are most welcome to participate (and they obviously have a great deal of expertise to share), we expect that this community will prove most useful to people who work in business-to-business and service industries.
Brand marketing in these sectors is highly complex because the brand experience is delivered primarily through people, many of whom are not employed by you (e.g. distributors/dealers and franchisees).
So, whereas money always helps fuel brand growth, your main task is to develop your:
- focus on customers and the experience you want to give them
- process thinking – as to how you are going to deliver that experience consistently
- checking procedures – to ensure that you are indeed delivering it
By sharing information between us, we can learn from each other and ensure that when we spend money (as we all need to do), we invest it wisely in the right activities using the right people.
